I was scared to tell my doctor, family, or friends that I was sad and tired all the time, I blew off the nightmares, and I didn't talk with anyone about how hopeless I felt. Looking back now that I'm recovering from PTSD I wish I had gotten help sooner.

I regret all the years that I lost, needlessly suffering from depression, anxiety, and PTSD.

Who's at risk for trauma

Did you experience an event to yourself or someone close to you that was sudden, made you feel afraid, and you were unable to do anything about what was happening?

Did you grow up or spend time as an adult living in an unstable, danger-filled, or violent environment?

Do you work in an environment like social work, law enforcement, or the military where you're exposed to the danger and suffering in other people’s lives, or sometimes find yourself in danger while doing your job?

Were you taken away from your parents, had a big surgery or serious illness? What about being the victim of bullying, verbal, or physical abuse, or sexual assault or sexual harassment?

If you've answered yes to any of these questions you are at risk for experiencing trauma and suffering from Post Traumatic Stress (PTS).
